How Masala Meat & Treat handles reader data, cookies, affiliate tracking and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Last updated: 28 April 2026.
Masala Meat & Treat is an editorial casino review site, operating from Birkenhead, Auckland. We publish content at masalameatandtreat.co.nz and reach our editorial desk at hello@masalameatandtreat.co.nz. Postal correspondence: 61 Mokoia Road, Birkenhead, Auckland 0626, New Zealand.
We do not require accounts and do not collect names, email addresses or contact details from readers visiting the site. The only personal data we hold is information you choose to email us — for example, when sending a reader correction, complaint or partnership enquiry. Your email and the content of your message are stored in our editorial inbox.
The site uses standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring page, timestamp) maintained by our hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, for security and performance monitoring. These logs are not used for personal identification and are retained only as long as Cloudflare's standard log retention period.
The site sets a small number of first-party cookies for analytics and a session cookie used by Cloudflare's security infrastructure. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting trackers or behavioural-profile cookies. The browser's standard "block third-party cookies" setting will not affect any feature of the site.
When a reader clicks an outbound link to a casino, the link routes through an affiliate tracking service (Linkly or the casino's direct affiliate platform). The tracking service records the click, the originating page on this site, an anonymous browser identifier and a timestamp. If the reader signs up at the casino, the tracking service attributes the sign-up to this site and pays us a commission. The reader's identity, financial details, deposit history and casino activity are not visible to us at any point.
You can disable affiliate cookies at the casino end (most casinos allow this in cookie preferences); doing so will not affect your account but may prevent us from being attributed for the referral. The affiliate tracking is for commission accounting only — we do not use it to build a profile of individual readers.
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service to count page views, measure session length and identify the most-read pages on the site. The service does not set permanent cookies, does not record IP addresses in identifiable form, and does not share data with advertising networks. Aggregate analytics inform editorial decisions (which sections need expansion, which pages drive readership) and are not used to identify individual readers.
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
Email any access or correction request to hello@masalameatandtreat.co.nz. We will reply within 20 working days as required by the Act. Complaints to the Privacy Commissioner can be lodged at privacy.org.nz.
We do not sell, rent or otherwise commercialise reader data. We share data with third parties only when (a) you have explicitly contacted them via a link on our site (for example, clicking through to a casino's sign-up page), (b) we are legally required to disclose information to law enforcement under New Zealand law, or (c) we use a service provider (Cloudflare, our affiliate tracker) acting on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
Online gambling is restricted to adults aged 18 or over in New Zealand. The content on this site is written for an adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Readers who become aware that a child has used the site should email the editorial desk; we will delete any data on request.
This privacy policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least thirty days following the revision.
